I too, have RA, around the year 2000, my Primary MD sent me to a western medicine RA specialist, who put me on NSAIDs, and they did alleviate my symptoms almost completely.
It was in 2008, when I realized that the cancer I had developed was probably helped by the NSAIDs I was taking, and stopped, at the advice of my MD at Cancer Treatment Center of America, where I was successfully treated.
However as my symptoms returned, I started regularly having weekly acupuncture treatments, and my symptoms are completely absent, as long as I keep my weekly acupuncture treatments, where I am routinely treated for other lifestyle problems that occur, sleeplessness, strained muscles, depression, etc.
You name it, acupuncture helps alleviate it, in my experience.
