May Day! International Workers Day, Beltane, May Flowers, and POCA’s Membership Drive!

The Community Acupuncture Project is a proud member of POCA (People’s Organization of Community Acupuncture).  POCA is a great resource, allowing patients to receive acupuncture at an affordable rate, growing community clinics across the country, building our own school, and providing acupuncturists with many resources to open and maintain their own community clinic.

We are grateful to POCA for the many, many resources they offer us that allow us to focus on you – the patient – instead of mundane tasks that need to be created. One example of this is the front desk staff. Our front desk is staffed entirely by volunteers. Many clinics across the country run in this same manner. By sharing resources as a community, we are all able to collaborate and not reinvent the wheel for volunteer systems. This is just one example of the many, many benefits of POCA.

By joining POCA, patient members receive many benefits, including free treatments on your birthday, three first time coupons for family and friends, our newsletter and more.  Not only does your money help to keep community acupuncture clinics thriving across the country, membership dues assist clinic owners with micro loans to start up new businesses in under served regions.

Even more reasons to join POCA this month: at CAP in West Seattle, your POCA membership goes far! During the months of May and October, 2017, you will receive $15 treatments all month long with your POCA membership.  You can join POCA for as little as $25 a year!  You get to become a part of a thriving community along with some great perks.  Together we can all support each other in spreading our wings and thus supporting our local communities!
